John has never met anyone like Kay. When the moon is in the right phase, she is magnetic and amazingly alive. But when the darkness closes in, she is lost to another world, a world in which John does not belong.
Polar Bears is screenwriter and author Haddon’s first work for the theatre. As a writer he is best known for the multi-award winning novel The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time, which told its story through the eyes of a child on the autistic spectrum. His other novels include A Spot Of Bother and Agent Z, while as a screenwriter his credits include Coming Down The Mountain, Fungus The Bogeyman and Mircosoap.
Jamie Hendry, who directs Polar Bears, is an Associate Director of the Donmar Warehouse who has also directed Piaf, Three Days Of Rain and The Lover And The Collection.
