Greta Garbo Came To Donegal

Tricycle Theatre, 269 Kilburn High Road, London

Greta Garbo Came To Donegal… and she did. The year is 1967 – nothing is ever the same after. Ireland is on the verge of violent change, two couples are on the verge of ending, a woman tries to save her family, a girl tries to save her future.  Above it all but in the midst of things, determining what happens next, is the loveliest and loneliest of all women, the great Garbo.  But when the gods arrive, they can cause havoc, not least to themselves, as the divine Greta learns.

Tricycle theatre Artistic Director Nicolas Kent directs the world premiere of Frank McGuinness’s new play Greta Garbo Came To Donegal.

The cast of Greta Garbo Came To Donegal includes Caroline Lagerfelt, who has appeared in hit America TV series Gossip Girl, Nash Bridges and Beverly Hills 90210. It also includes Tom McKay, who previously appeared in the Tricycle theatre’s The Great Game: Afghanistan season, and Michelle Fairley, who has starred in Hostage and The Factory Girls at the Kilburn venue.

In addition to Greta Garbo Came To Donegal, McGuinness’s plays include Observe The Sons Of Ulster Marching Towards The Somme, There Came A Gypsy Riding and Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me.
