Hit jazz musical Five Guys Named Moe tells the story of the down-on-his-luck Nomax. Newly-single and broke, he finds solace in the Five Guys Named Moe (Big Moe, Four Eyed Moe, Eat Moe, No Moe and Little Moe) who emerge from his 1930s-style radio to cajole and comfort him with the hit songs of jazz legend Louis Jordan.
Among the Jordan songs featured in Five Guys Named Moe, which won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment in 1991, are Early In The Morning, Choo Choo Ch’Boogie and Saturday Night Fish Fry.
Five Guys Named Moe was first seen at the Theatre Royal Stratford East in 1990, it now returns to its original home following a season at the Edinburgh Festival.
Clarke Peters, who wrote the book for Five Guys Named Moe and stars in this revival, has appeared in American dramas The Wire and Treme. He was last seen on the London stage playing Porgy in the Trevor Nunn-directed production of Porgy And Bess that opened at the Savoy theatre in 2006.

- Access description: Entering the theatre from Theatre Square; there is an automatic door for disabled access with a push button at low level. The box office is immediately on your right. Further into foyer is the lift to all levels with low level controls. Theatre open 30mins before performance. Level access to bar from main entrance through the foyer.
- Hearing impaired: Hearing loop system, an infra-red Senheisser system and minicom.
- Guide dogs policy: Guide dogs allowed into auditorium – please book an aisle seat. Alternatively staff are happy to dog-sit.
