The Changeling

Young Vic, The Cut, London
The Changeling at the Young Vic

The Changeling is a gripping and darkly comic tale of how love and sex can drive us mad.

The beautiful Beatrice-Joanna is in love, so does the only sensible thing she can, she hires the hideous De Flores to kill the man her father would have her marry, who is not the one she adores. Unfortunately for her, once the evil deed is done, she discovers that it is neither jewels or money that De Flores would claim as his reward, but something far more precious.

The Changeling, written by Thomas Middleton and William Rowley, could be considered one of the most powerful tragedies ever written.
