Bridewell Theatre, Bride Lane, London

Adapted from the play Her Stepdaughter by Gabriela Preissová which was the basis for Janácek’s opera, this story of betrayal, love and forgiveness in a small, tight-knit community caused a scandal in Prague when it was first performed in the 1890s and was not performed in Britain until five years ago.

Guildhall School actors present a rare production of this play.
