Beside The Sea

Purcell Room, South Bank Centre, London

Following her acclaimed performance of Beckett’s Not I, Lisa Dwan returns to the Southbank Centre to star in Beside The Sea, a timeless drama about a mother who is driven to the extremes of mental and physical despair.

Written by Veronique Olmi, Beside The Sea examines the themes of filicide with tenderness and bravery. It is not only a story of irrational fear, where love crosses the border into violence, but also a fearless meditation on maternal love.

Beside The Sea is part of the Southbank Centre's WOW - Women of the World festival.
