Goodnight Mister Tom is a classic children’s novel, a touching story set during the dark and dangerous build up to the Second World War. When William Beech is evacuated to the English countryside, he is sent to live with the elderly recluse Tom Oakley. An unlikely pairing at first, their relationship grows and blossoms, until everything is torn apart when he is summoned back to London.

This Olivier Award-winning production of Michelle Magorian’s award-winning wartime story was written for the stage by acclaimed children’s playwright David Wood and returns to the stage following its triumphant run in 2012/2013.

David Troughton stars as Mister Tom. The acclaimed actor has appeared extensively with the RSC and boasts National Theatre credits in productions including Season’s Greetings, Measure For Measure and Peter Pan.
