Award-winning playwright Gbolahan Obisesan’s adaptation of the arresting Stephen Kelman novel Pigeon English is performed by the National Youth Theatre REP Company in the West End, showcasing the harsh reality of adulthood in modern Britain.

Centring on eleven year old Harri, who is walking the tightrope perilously close to manhood amidst a backdrop of grey concrete high rises, Pigeon English sees his world turned upside down in a story inspired by one of the most powerful events in modern history.

With matters spiralling quickly beyond his control, Harri’s life will never be the same again, in the West End premiere of this electrifying adaptation of the 2011 Man Booker prize shortlisted novel.

National Youth Theatre Associate Director Anna Niland illuminates the implications of adolescence in our current climate in this intense drama.
