Zorro

Garrick Theatre, Charing Cross Road, London

Zorro is a swashbuckling, cape-swishing, blood-pumping new musical adventure featuring the music of the Gipsy Kings.

A cast of 30, blending West End musical performers with a collection of the world's leading flamenco dancers, tells this action-packed American tale of good versus evil. Crime fighter Zorro, originally created in 1919, is the masked alter-ego of nobleman Don Diego de la Vega who defends the people of Spanish California against injustice and oppression.

Zorro features the music of Grammy Award-winning Latin sensations The Gipsy Kings, including well known hits such as Bamboleo, Baila Me and Djobi Djoba alongside brand new tunes.

Matt Rawle, who plays the masked avenger in Zorro, is no stranger to productions with a Latin feel, having previously played Ché in the recent revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita.

Emma Williams, who plays love interest Luisa, has West End credits including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Desperately Seeking Susan, while Californian actress Lesli Margherita, who has US credits including Damn Yankees and Kiss Me Kate, makes her West End debut in the show as Diego's gypsy friend. Adam Levy, who plays Zorro's nemesis Ramon, has appeared in productions including Angels In America, The Winter's Tale and Henry V.

Zorro features the choreography of famous flamenco star Rafael Amargo, and is directed by Christopher Renshaw, who has previously directed the West End hits including The King And I, Taboo and We Will Rock You.
