After eight years absence, Harry returns to the ancestral home to celebrate his mother's birthday. Tormented by a dark secret, he confides in Aunt Agatha only to discover that the family too has its own hidden demons.
The cast of The Family Reunion is led by actor and director Samuel West, who returns to the Donmar Warehouse, where he recently appeared in Betrayal. West’s other acting credits include Hamlet and Richard II for the Royal Shakespeare Company, and A Number and Much Ado About Nothing for Sheffield Theatres, where he was Artistic Director between 2004 and 2007. As a director his work includes the successful revival of Dealer’s Choice and the Almeida theatre’s production of Waste.
Penelope Wilton, who plays Agatha in The Family Reunion, is a regular face at the Donmar Warehouse, where she has appeared in The Chalk Garden, John Gabriel Borkman, The Little Foxes and A Kind Of Alaska. As prevalent on screen as she is on stage, Wilton’s television credits include Dr Who and Bob And Rose, while her films include The History Boys, Calendar Girls and Iris.
Hattie Morahan, who makes her Donmar Warehouse debut in The Family Reunion, broke through into the public consciousness following her appearance in the BBC’s recent production of Sense And Sensibility. On stage, her credits include …some trace of her, The Seagull, Iphigenia At Aulis (all National Theatre) and The City (Royal Court).
The Family Reunion is directed by Jeremy Herrin, whose previous productions include The Vertical Hour, That Face (both Royal Court) and Statement Of Regret (National Theatre).

- Limited mobility: Aisle seats have the most legroom, except row A in the Stalls. C9 and C30 in the Stalls have unlimited legroom.
- Access description: A portable ramp can be placed over the 15cm step into entrance on Earlham Street. Box office counter is straight ahead from the Earlham Street entrance. Lift up to all floors of the auditorium, to the right of the box office counter. All staircases have handrails on both sides and steps are highlighted. Stalls up 26 steps from the foyer and have one step between rows. Circle up 48 steps from the foyer, with one step between rows. The Stalls is level, the Circle is raked.
- Hearing impaired: Infra-red system with 8 headsets. Headsets can be collected from the Box Office. Returnable deposit of credit card or driving licence required. Portable induction loop at the Box Office.
- Guide dogs policy: Guide dogs are allowed in the auditorium, alternatively staff are happy to dog-sit. The theatre can accommodate 4 guide dogs per performance.
- Wheelchairs: Slight slope up from the lift to the back of the Stalls. 1 space for a wheelchair user in the Stalls. Up to 4 wheelchair transfer seats available. Wheelchair/Scooters are stored beside the Box Office.
- Toilets: Women’s and men’s off the Circle bar, off the foyer and 4 steps up from the Stalls.

- Bars: 2 licensed bars. No steps to both the Stalls and the Circle bars. Both have fixed seating and limited space. Drinks may be taken into the auditorium in plastic cups, or brought to customers.
