Every year British Youth Opera presents the very best of emerging operatic talent in two new productions. This year sees the company stage two fascinating and very different operas.

Puccini's bittersweet romantic comedy La Rondine is set in Paris during the Belle Époque. Performed to music exceptional lyrical beauty, it tells the story of two pairs of lovers as they deal with affairs of the heart, commitment and renunciation.

Jonathan Dove's hugely successful modern masterpiece, Flight, first performed in 1998, receives its first London performance by British Youth Opera. Set in a busy airport and inspired by a true story, the opera presents a group of people whose lives happen to intersect on one particular day. Their interactions and relationships are illuminated b Dove's pulsating and thrillingly coloured score.
