New comic thriller Rank is set in the harsh world of grifting, gambling and getting by, where two taxi drivers face the toughest choice of their lives. Loyalty, trust and friendship are just more chips to be thrown on the table, and one wrong turn of the cards could mean that this time there is no way back.

Rank is presented by Irish new writing company Fishamble, which previously staged The Pride Of Parnell Street at the Tricycle theatre and is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

Playwright Robert Massey has written three plays: Deadline, Over And Out and Rank. Deadline was developed as part of the Playtalk programme at the Abbey Theatre and produced by Lane Productions at Andrews Lane Studio in February 2006 transferring to Andrew Lane Theatre in April that year. Over And Out was also produced by Lane Productions, opening at the Civic Theatre Tallaght in May 2008 before a nationwide Irish tour. Rank premiered at the Helix theatre as part of the Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival.

The cast of Rank includes Royal Shakespeare Company and National Theatre veteran Bryan Murray whose television appearances include playing Harry Cassidy in Perfect Scoundrels, Shifty Boswell in Bread and Trevor Jordache in Brookside.

Director Jim Culleton is the Artistic Director of Fishamble who directed the previous production of The Pride Of Parnell Street at the Tricycle theatre and on tour in France, Germany and the US.

This production of Rank at the Tricycle theatre is a British premiere.
