Comedian, musician and hobbit-hybrid, Bill Bailey brings his stand-up comedy show Tinselworm to the Gielgud theatre.

Following a sell-out arena tour of the UK in 2007, and a sell-out tour of New Zealand and Australia in 2008, Bill Bailey’s Tinselworm returns to the UK for an autumn season.

As in any Bill Bailey show, the subject matter of Tinselworm is broad ranging; tattoos, marketing, doorbells, emo, creationism, post-war banking secrecy, travellers’ tales and the alternate reality that is Bill’s world - spun together with the sparkling thread of a seasonal invertebrate.

Tinselworm has all the trademark Bill Bailey elements; lyrical dexterity, tangential silliness and musical brilliance plus animation by award-winning film maker, Joe Magee, all of which combine to make this a verbal and visual  treat.

Comedian and actor Bill Bailey might now be best known as a former team captain on long-running comic music panel quiz Never Mind The Buzzcocks, but his showbiz beginnings hark back to his West Country roots and failed band The Famous Five.

Bailey's other stand-up shows include Bewilderness and Part Troll, while on television he has also acted in teen drama Skins and award-winning comedy Black Books. A versatile performer, Bailey took to the stage in productions of 12 Angry Men and The Odd Couple at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and in Pinter’s People, which ran in the West End in 2007.

Bill Bailey’s Tinselworm is a rare chance to see a live performance from one of the UK’s best-loved and musically gifted comedians.
