Touched... For The Very First Time is a contemporary, high-energy, comedic, one-woman play. The show is seen through the eyes of Lesley, a 36-year-old from Manchester. She narrates her life from that earth-shattering moment as a plump 14-year-old in 1984, when she hears Like A Virgin for the very first time. Convinced that her desire to ‘have it all’ is inextricably linked with Madonna’s own life, the love affair of a lifetime begins.
With classic songs from the 1980s and 1990s, Touched... For The Very First Time is an upbeat, nostalgic, fun evening of entertainment.
This production of Touched... For The Very First Time at the intimate Trafalgar Studio 2 marks Sadie Frost’s return to stage acting. Her last stage appearance came more than 20 years ago at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, the city in which she grew up, where she appeared in Mumbo Jumbo, directed by Nicholas Hytner. She has been a more frequent screen performer, starring in more than 20 films including The Krays, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Splitting Heirs, Rancid Aluminium, and the upcoming thriller The Heavy. These projects have seen her working alongside actors including Anthony Hopkins, Gary Oldman, Rhys Ifans, David Schwimmer, Jude Law, Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves.
Touched... For The Very First Time has not been authorised or approved in any manner by Madonna.
