The ideal way to travel to London theatres is by public transport. The London Underground or London buses will deliver you within a five-minute walk of most West End theatres. For specific information call London Transport on 020 7222 1234 (24 Hours), check the Transport for London website or check the show listings on this site. For general information on London transport please see below.
The last tube trains leave central London Underground stations at approximately midnight Monday to Sunday (just before midnight Sundays). Check the 'first and last train times' poster displayed in the station ticket hall or ask a member of staff.

'Daytime' buses nearly all run to around midnight, then night buses take over. Most late night buses leave Trafalgar Square or Piccadilly Circus beginning at midnight and run at intervals all night long. Buses are safe and will take you to most areas of Greater London.
The most reliable taxis to take are licensed London taxis (known as black cabs because that is their most common colour.)
National Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950 (24 hours) provide information for all rail services throughout Great Britain. Please check train times before departing as last trains leave central London Rail stations from 23.30 to 13.00.

If you have to drive into central London, please note: On-street parking meters and single yellow lines apply between 08.30 and 18.30 Monday to Saturday throughout most of Theatreland (the City of Westminster and the Borough of Camden). After 18:30 and at any time on Sundays you may park free of charge on meters and on single yellow lines. Be careful not to cause any obstruction and avoid parking in bays reserved for permit holders only.
Most West End theatres are within the £8 Congestion Charge zone. The Congestion Charge applies Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 18.00. For more details, please see the Transport For London Congestion Charge website.
