Olivier Award nominee David Haig is to star alongside Daniel Kaluuya and Luke Norris in the Young Vic’s revival of Joe Penhall’s Blue/Orange.

The writer and director, nominated for Best Actor in a Musical for his hilarious performance as Nathan Detroit in Guys And Dolls, will play Robert, a doctor discussing the future of patient Christopher, played by Kaluuya, in the award-winning drama.

It is the day before Christopher is due to be discharged from a psychiatric ward, but his doctor has reservations. That may be understandable considering Christopher believes oranges are blue and that his father is a Ugandan dictator. When the two doctors begin to discuss Christopher’s predicament, a clash of ethics, budgets and self-promotion ensues.

The Olivier Award-winning drama, which has been extended due to demand for tickets, runs from 12 May to 2 July.

While Blue/Orange runs in the Main House, Charlene James’ award-winning play Cuttin’ It runs in the Maria with a cast comprising Some Girls’ Adelayo Adedayo and Tsion Habte.

The story of two 15-year-old Somali girls living in Britain, and the shared understandings and fundamental differences that draw them together and pull them apart, runs from 20 May to 11 June in a production directed by Gbolahan Obisesan.
