The Wyndham Report (1998) was commissioned by The Society of London Theatre, researched by MORI and written by Tony Travers of The London School of Economics. The brief for the report was to provide a detailed analysis of the effect of the London theatre industry on the nation's economy. The report reveals the West End theatre industry as an economic powerhouse, bolstering the UK economy with thousands of jobs and millions of pounds of tourist and industry spending, whilst creating significant tax yields and a major balance of payments surplus.
