Doktor Glas

Wyndham's Theatre, Charing Cross Road, London, United Kingdom WC2H 0DA

Doktor Glas is the story of a 19th century physician who falls madly in love with the beautiful young wife of a corrupt clergyman. Fuelled by love, when she tells him that her marriage is making her miserable, Glas offers to help in whichever way he can. This soon finds him torn between his passion and his beliefs.

Krister Henriksson, who makes his West End debut in this production of Doktor Glas, is best known to TV audiences as the original Wallander in the much acclaimed Swedish TV series brought to the UK by BBC4. His stage work, however, has included performing in plays by Shakespeare, Beckett, Strindberg, Ibsen, Miller and Pinter on stages across the world.

This adaptation of Hjalmer Soderberg’s classic novel transfers to London following its acclaimed run at Sweden’s National Theatre. It is performed in Swedish with English surtitles.
